She graduated from Southwestern University School of Law in Los Angeles, with a Juris Doctor degree in 2005. She passed the California Bar on her first attempt and was thereafter sworn in as a licensed California attorney. In 2005 and 2006, Ann worked for Marilee Marshall and Associates, a Los Angeles firm specializing in criminal appellate law. She eventually joined the Law Office of the Public Defender in Riverside, CA, because she wanted to help ensure indigent defendants received a fair trial.
